WW1 Japanese Army Issue Cavalry Sabre, Sword With Matching Scabbard

Not an easy saber to find.
It is in excellent condition for its age.  The scabbard has a few shallow dings and the discoloration that pretty much all metal has after a hundred years but at least there is no rust.
The blade is in even better condition with only a little pitting on each side at the tip end of the sabre.  The blade generally looks unused.
The locking mechanism is tight and works fine.  The wood handle has a scratch on one side but otherwise in very, very good condition.
The serial number is on the ricasso and has been highlighted in white.  It matches the serial number on the end of the scabbard.
This is a very nice piece and really should be a part of your WW1 collection.  The general public probably doesn’t even know that Japan also fought in WW1 with the Allies and this could be an interesting way to educate them.
