    The diary belong to Frank A. McLean, a Canadian soldier who fought during World War I.  His name and personal address are handwritten on the cover page.  Throughout the diary McLean lists the addresses of his friends and family members, along with other interesting places he visited during the war.  He also lists his budget and various expenses.  For example, ".00 to be paid each month to father... The other .00 to be put in bank for me till I come home from the war."  There is also a check from McLean written to the Great War Veterans Association, dated May 12, 1919, for .00.
