    Description

    I am selling quite a few extremely old (Roughly 100 years old) College & University "patches" (or, some are state seal patches). Often, the college name is in, I assume, Latin, but that does vary somewhat by patch. Please see the picture of the one you are bidding on. Most are embossed with indentation on the leather. Those that are gold/silver go both ways...some are also indented and some are only paint or ink or whatever it is that is gold or silver. AGAIN...PLEASE SEE THE PICTURE OF THIS PATCH AS THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF THE ONE YOU ARE BUYING. Some are in great shape and some are ROUGH. They have a very approximate measurement of 2" by 2 1/2". (Except the pennant shaped ones, which are smaller).
    They are not cloth patches like most I am selling. These are made out of leather. From what I gather (and I am open to new information) these were a "premium" put out by a tobacco company nearly 100 years ago (possibly 1912 or 1918). Very, very old antique patches like this are fun to see and hold if it represents your alma mater or state. What a unique Christmas, Graduation, or "I Love You" gift for your loved one.
    The threads that you see in some (not all, just some) of these of these along the side will be left in, but could easily be pulled out if you wanted. I have left them in (if they are there) as they leave such a beautiful vintage & antique look if you are putting together a display of any sort. Again, refer to the picture...if there are strings, they will stay. It is as pictured. Also, so may have punch holes if they had been held together with yarn. If so, this will be CLEARLY visible in the pictures.
