The Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle is one of the most successful small arms of the 20th century. The rifle, developed by the brothers Wilhelm and Paul Mauser, was in service with many armies of the world from WW I until the end of World War II.
This item shows parts of two original cartridges from a Mauser 98 rifle. The left sample is 1895, the right one is 1916. With the  chemical etching of metal, oak leaves, inscriptions, and an image of the Mauser 98 rifle itself were engraved
This modern piece is made from original items from the First World War using the technologies of those times.
