    Description

Trench Art WW1 Letter Knife From Original Artillery Driving Band
    Trench art
is any decorative item made by soldiers, prisoners of war, or civilians
where the manufacture is directly linked to armed conflict or its consequences. It offers an insight not only to their feelings and emotions about the war, but also their surroundings and the materials they had available to them.
During the First World War, the only way to get in touch with family and friends was mail. The soldiers treated each envelope with care, because in addition to a letter, it could contain photographs, postcards. And it is not surprising that among the things made with our own hands from scrap materials, envelope openers remained the most common.
