WW1 FLAGS KRIEGSMARINE 48 STAR USA 5 STRIPE CHINA RUSSIA NAVY.
This is a collection of 15 miniature antique silk flags mounted on wooden staffs with gilded finials.  The flags are authentic originals and date from the period 1912 to 1918 and measure approximately 2x3 inches with a staff 8.25 inches long including gilded point. The flags from upper left are the Kriegsmarine ensign of Imperial Germany, the 48 star USA flag, the 5-striped flag of the Republic of China, Belgium, the Andrew's Cross naval ensign of Tsarist Russia, Spanish Merchant flag, Turkey, Mexico, Canadian Red Ensign, Japanese Naval Ensign, France, British Red Ensign, Austria-Hungary, Italy naval ensign, and Greece.The earliest is the 5 striped flag of China which was adopted in 1912.    The arms on the flag of Mexico changed in 1916, and the KRIEGSMARINE  flag of Germany and the Andrews Cross of Russia both became obsolete at the end of World War I in 1918. The USA flag of 48 stars has the early pattern of staggered rows. The Spanish merchant flag became obsolete in 1931. Note the condition as shown in the photographs. The condition of the top row of flags is very good. The flags in the second row are in fair condition with numerous splits in the silk fabric, and the bottom 3 are poor with some separations from the staff
