    Description

These are high quality Aluminum Alloy Gallian Binoculars of the "Racing" Size.  Standing 4 " high when closed and 5" high fully extended x 4 1/2" wide at front and 4" wide at eye pieces.  Left eye piece is block engraved "NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA" and right eye piece is engraved "OPTICIANS  LONDON".  The left body, under the very tight sun shade is engraved in script "Evelyn  Horridge" and the right body, under a very tight sun shade is engraved in script  "41.  Rudland Gate" over "London".  The top front of the Carrying Case is stamped " E.H.". Case stande 4 1/2" tall x 5" wide X 2 3/4" thick.  The fine lining in the inside of the case top has "Negretti & Zambra Opticians  38 Halborn Viaduct 45, Cornhill &  122 Regents St.  London".
Evelyn E. (Sandys) Horridge was married Sir Thomas Gardner Horridge in 1901 and was his wife until her death in 1920.  I assume these binoculars are circa 1905. Sir Thomas was a MP for East Manchester 1906 till January 1910 and a Judge on Kings Bench.  The focus is fine, optics bright,  some dust inside.
Worst thing about these is the eruption of the aluminum which makes insertion and removal difficult, and stained the linings of the case.  Body and hoods are covered in a very high quality greenish black leather.  You can feel the oxidation under the covering on the sun hoods.
I have added a loop of para cord to help pull the binoculars out from the case.
