Pier Frassati was a young man who is known for his selfless care of the poor and sick, as well as for his love of skiing, mountain climbing and enjoying time with good friends.  He is a wonderful role model for today's youth, especially for young people who enjoy skiing and other mountain sports like mountain climbing, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
Pier Giorgio Frassati was born into a prominent family in Turin, Italy at the beginning of the 20th century.  His father was involved in journalism and politics. Young Pier was devoted to social action, charity, prayer and community, and was active in Catholic Action and other organizations.  He was a Third Order Dominican and joined the St Vincent de Paul society; he spent much of his time helping the poor.
