ARGENTINE BROWN LEATHER M1909 MAUSER & FAL SLING SINGLE STRAP 1950s-1970s
This is the most scarce argentine sling model in brown leather, for Mauser M1909 in their last years of service, or for FN FAL in their first years of service, before the switch to the green field gear.
It is the evolution of the single strap used from 1920s-1930s, with a small broze buckle and bronze prong, which was replaced in this model with a zinc-coated steel buckle with a larger frame & prong and a roller, and two keeper-loops, one fixed to the buckle and the other free to slide.
The other side remains unchanged from the 1920s-1930s model, there are two holes separated by 60mm or 2 3/8" that when bent over, and the holes are aligned, they are locked with a double-headed brass button.
Unused strap, 25mm or 1" wide, and a maximum useful length of 101cm or 3.3', and 4mm or 3/16" thick, with 15 holes to regulate the length.
Marked with the manufacturer's well-known initials "A.C.H.". whose full name is unknown.
The manufacture is raw, the bucke is without rust, the sewings are complete and tense. The leather is not cracked or split, but it has marks due to the manufacturing process and for decades of being stored (see photos), it is convenient to gently grease or lubricate it in case of use in a rifle.
I offer for sale 3 slings with different aesthetic details, each buyer will be able to choose among those available, based on the principle of "first come first served".
In the last picture you can see an identical sling of my property, well lubricated and correctly assembled as those to be used in a rifle.
