Description
Incredible piece of history! These artillery shells were collected by soldiers and civilians and painstakingly crafted into works of art and repurposed. "Trench Art" does not just refer to things made by soldiers in the trenches but objects made by anyone in response to conflict or recycled out of war materials. Trench Art is usually associated with the First World War, although similar items have been produced in other conflicts too. These matching heavy, solid brass shell casings are marked 75 and were used during World War I. They features a pattern of acorns and leaves. Hard to find a MATCHING PAIR. Great conversation starters.
One vase says "EPARGES" (Southwestern France) and the other says "'15" for the year 1915.
Dimensions: 13.5ʺ tall and they weigh about 3 lbs EACH. Due to weight, no returns.
