RUSSIAN WOLFHOUND BORZOI AFGAN
An exemplary full-figure Russian Wolfhound, Borzoi.  This is a 1930’s Metal Alloy Antique Doorstop from Hubley's famous dog line. Incredible detailed casting with eyelet for dog leash.
This item is a Hubley Cast Borzoi Russian Wolfhound made from their Zinc alloy process beginning in 1930.  It is formed from the same mild as the cast iron so appears with the same dimensions, detail, and form but is lighter and is not magnetic.  It still has its original iron screw to hold the two halves together.
Condition:  Overall very nice condition and nearly 100 years old. This item has its base coat/paint which is silver but a child, long ago,  painted the collar, lips and eyes red and black.  I have NOT tried to remove the color. I think it adds charm to this piece as we know it was loved... There is a small chip on its back on one half as seen in the photos.  As expected there are no markings.  It is hollow.
Made by Hubley.Circa 1930's.  When this Zinc alloy metal was used.
