Antique DATED 1879 FREE BLOWN GLASS DECANTER Tulip OPEN PONTIL Stiegel Type

Description

For sale is an Antique DATED 1879 BLOWN GLASS DECANTER decorated with a highly ornate triple Tulip engraved pattern on the front panel. The other three panels contain hand colored leaf/ivy design and a clear dating of 1879. I believe the word says “Shall we drink?” in old Swedish. The bottle is blown with square mold with a hand applied neck and lip. Clear OPEN PONTIL mark at the base. Very much in the same style of American Stiegel glass bottle. You can see they came from the same original design.
The decanter measures approximately 7.5” tall 3.5” by 2.5” at the base. There is no chips, nicks or cracks that I can find. Age appropriate surface wears and manufacturer imperfections (bubbles, swirls) are to be expected. Shiny clean. Please check all photos for detailed condition. Overall, a wonderful and authentic 1800s dated decanter. It Would be a beautiful display piece for your curio or a conversational piece at your antique wine bar.
