These is a antique 1918 Army Quartermaster strongbox. The front has Q.M.C.U.S.A. On the inside of the lid it is stamped Victor Safe And Lock Of Cincinnati Ohio 1918. It once had a combination lock on the top but it is missing. The box is made out of heavy steel with a metal carrying on each end. It would take two people to carry the box due to it weight. This type of box was probably used to move soldiers payroll. The measurements are 24 inches long, 14 7/8 inches wide, and 15 inches tall. This strongbox would be a great addition to any military collection. Also great for a man cave. It could even be used as a coffee table. Please check out my eBay store for more great vintage items.
