  • Condition: 1847 over Small 7, N-31 R5 Nice smooth medium brown no serious problems. A fabulous overdate variety listed in the Guide Book of U. S. Coins. Repunching on 7 is visible but since it is the second use of the obverse die, it is a slightly weaker impression as seen in the photo. There is a new reverse for the second use of the obverse die, and a diagnostic is the dot or point visible at the inside base of the O in ONE. A slight surface defect in front of the neck of Ms. Liberty. Diagnostics are best seen using a loupe. The date position is correct and matches the N-2 obverse.
