    Description

    This is a rare 1843 Braided Hair Large Cent. Yeoman's book shows that there were several versions of this coin.  One had the Petite head of 1840 with small letters, one with large letters and the Mature Head with large letters.   This coin is considered Very Good by Ruddy Photograde book due to partial liberty,  cords visible and  little hair detail.   It is a Philadelphia Mint Cent from my father's small collection of monies given to me prior to his passing in 1990. I have to downsize myself now so I am selling the collection here.   Few hair lines are present . Wreath has little detail on top leaves  According to my Yeoman's book from 2021, only 2.4 million coins from that year were minted originally.
